Our Forest with Tree-Nation
At De Vere Brilliance, we believe that luxury should leave more beauty in the world than it takes. That’s why we’ve partnered with Tree-Nation, a global reforestation initiative, to take action against climate change and to balance the carbon footprint of our laboratory-grown diamonds.
Who are Tree-Nation?
Tree-Nation is a non-profit organisation on a mission to fight climate change by planting trees around the world. They bring together reforestation projects and individuals or companies who want to reduce their impact on the planet. Since 2006, they’ve planted over 30 million trees across more than 70 projects worldwide.
Each project is carefully selected for its ecological and social benefits – from restoring biodiversity and absorbing CO₂, to supporting local communities who depend on healthy ecosystems.
What does this mean for De Vere Brilliance?
We don’t just talk about sustainability – we track it. Tree-Nation allows us to calculate the carbon emissions from our own operations. Our supply chain partners have their own initiatives, including their own reforestation and tree planting programs. For us, for every tonne of CO₂ we emit, we commit to planting enough trees to offset it.
That’s not just marketing fluff – every tree is geo-tagged, monitored, and visible in our own De Vere Brilliance Forest on Tree-Nation’s platform. You can actually see where the trees are planted and watch the forest grow over time. Admittedly, it’s only a small forest at the moment, but it will grow in time.
Why does it matter?
Laboratory-grown diamonds already avoid many of the environmental and social issues linked with mining, but they’re not carbon-free. Growing diamonds in a laboratory uses significant amounts of energy. While we’re working with partners who use certified renewable power sources, there’s still an impact – and we’re not going to hide that.
